unbottled
Day two of the enforced no-bottle naps. Today there's a sippy of water in there with him, where yesterday he went totally unequipped.
The sippy is making no discernable difference. Thirty minutes of screaming so far. Yesterday it went for 45 before he wore himself out, and then he woke up an hour later as if he had never stopped, possibly even in a higher gear. He was brittle all day long afterwards.
It's around this point in the screaming that I lose sight of what the point of all this is. Okay, he shouldn't sleep with milk because it's bad for his teeth, but beyond that? He shouldn't have a small comfort in his day? He should figure it out for himself and suck on his fingers or his giraffe? Yes, something about sleeping through the night, self-soothing, finding his own, un-parentally-supplied ways to relax. But jesus, this feels like such a Victorian way to get there.
